Lesson Plans
Each year, in February, the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund sponsors Burn Awareness Week, a national campaign designed to reduce the number of fire and burn injuries among children. This educational program is targeted to students across the province.
Educational Videos
Simple yet powerful videos, featuring stories of acceptance and healing; one burn survivor's journey expressed through his artwork; and discharge preparation for burn survivors. A great series for medical professionals who want to enhance their burn injury knowledge, as well as for teachers and families who want to understand the impact of burn injuries on survivors and the process of healing.
"Just a Firecracker - 2 Buddies and a Bomb" DVD is now available!
This short documentary targets kids in Grades 8 - 12 and details the true story of Troy and Jerrod who were injured while creating a homemade pipe bomb. It contains graphic images of their injuries and is, therefore, only suitable for this age group.
The BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund is offering this important tool at no cost to B.C. schools.
