City of Vancouver proclaimed April 12th as Burn Survivor Day
City of Vancouver proclaimed April 12th as Burn Survivor Day in the City, per Councillor Kim Capri, by way of Mayor Sam Sullivan.

Background:
On April 12, 2007, the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund launched the new BC adult burn survivor program. The Burn Fund’s Adult Burn Survivor Program components include:
- New Beginnings resource book
- Survivors Share Their Stories DVD
- Mini Reflections on line weekly support messages
- The Future Is Mine Program on the Burn Fund Website provides connection and confidential exchange with other survivors
- Tele-classes facilitated by the Burn Fund to offer information and contact for survivors throughout British Columbia
- Support for adult burn survivors twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week
