Millionth Dollar in Donation to BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund Takes Place Next Tuesday (Dec 13th) at Bright Nights In Stanley Park
STANLEY PARK, VANCOUVER There’s a momentous occasion taking place at Stanley Park next Tuesday, December 13th, and the public is invited to get in on the celebration.
Partial proceeds from the Stanley Park Train and all donations at the eighth annual Bright Nights in Stanley Park help to raise funds for the important work carried out by the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund. The fundraising goal for this year is $200 thousand, which will push the total amount in fundraising at Bright Nights to over the $1 million dollar mark.
“This coming Tuesday, December 13, is a very special date at Bright Nights,” says Tony Burke, executive director of the Burn Fund. “Between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM, we estimate that the Burn Fund will receive its millionth dollar in donations at the event.
We’re inviting the public to join us, and help the Burn Fund meet its millionth dollar donation.”
The person who donates the millionth dollar will receive a gift package from the Burn Fund, its partner, the Vancouver Park Board and Bright Nights’ Gold sponsors Global TV, The Old Spaghetti Factory, and VanNet Newspapers and Silver Sponsor, White Spot Restaurants.
The Burn Fund provides life saving, life supporting, and life enriching services to the people in British Columbia. More than 3,300 professional fire fighters around the province are building the Burn Fund’s vision. They dedicate their time and skills to support burn survivors and increase the public’s knowledge about fire and burn safety issues through the work the Burn Fund does with its Burn Awareness, Research and Prevention Programs.
