Overview

Like many charitable organizations in today's economy, the Burn Fund is challenged by the rising demand for resources and services.

The Burn Fund is supported by more than 3,700 professional fire fighters from fifty communities around British Columbia and the Yukon.  Over the years, they've held golf tournaments, pancake breakfasts, hose reel festivals, and sporting events. They raised money through the production and sale of fire fighter calendars, presented magic shows, and hosted hundreds of unique fund-raisers. Their hard work and dedication supports the Burn Fund and its fund-raising efforts.

The corporate fundraising plan is under way. Supporting efforts by the Burn Fund's media partners Global Television British Columbia and Canwest Community Publishing has increased public awareness. Global TV produces and airs public service announcements, and Canwest produces advertisements that run in seventeen community newspapers in the Lower Mainland. The Burn Fund is developing mutually beneficial partnerships with individuals, foundations and corporate sponsors. Sponsors are acknowledged through a multi-level recognition program.

Numerous individuals have contributed to the Burn Fund by way of cash donations, bequests, planned giving and legacy funds.
